The Union, Obrero Pilipino – Yutaka Manufacturing Chapter, filed a Preventive Mediation case the day after they were duly recognized as legitimate labor organization on 16 August 2021.

In just one virtual conciliation conference, the issues brought to RCMB IV-A was settled including an agreement to create a Labor Management Committee (LMC) in the company.

Despite the pandemic, Management was able to partially release the payment for the 2020 Performance Incentive Pay (PIP) to their employees. For this year, the said incentive pay is under evaluation.

The parties likewise agreed that management shall provide 25 kilos of rice every quarter to settle the issue on the elimination of three cups of rice.

On the alleged violation on Department Order No. 174 where more than 300 workers were under manpower agencies, Management clarified that these agencies are all registered with DOLE.

Meanwhile, the union wholeheartedly understood the temporary abolition of birthday lunch celebration and company outing was due to the pandemic and safety protocols.

Conciliator-Mediator Arnheim P. Ravelo was able to introduce to the parties the concept of Labor Management Cooperation, which will effectively resolve issues at company-level and reduce misunderstanding, thereby, sustaining industrial peace.
